The Chick is the house sandwich, a scoop on a croissant with lettuce and tomato. The BLT loads bacon onto a scoop, and the two melts press everything hot until the cheese runs. A sandwich meal adds a side to the plate, which makes it the full lunch most people picture when they think of this restaurant.
Meals are the better value when you want the full plate, and the sandwiches on their own are the lighter order. Either way, the cookie case at the register is hard to walk past.
The meal math is worth doing once. A scoop on its own costs less than the meal built around it, and the difference buys the side, the pickle spear and the cookie. Bread choice matters more than it looks: the croissant is the best first bite and the worst traveller, so for an order riding in a car, wheatberry holds together better. The melts are the hot orders on this page, pressed until the cheese runs, and they are the slowest to arrive for the same reason.
Dine in or take away changes the right order. The melts and the BLT are at their best in the first ten minutes, hot from the press, so they are dine in sandwiches. The Chick on wheatberry is the traveller of the page: it holds its structure in a bag and still eats well an hour later. Pick the sandwich for where you will be when you eat it, not just for what is in it.
